I am told that the cross drilled have a tendancy to break.I went with straight slotted and good pads-(check out our sponsor Hightech brakes) and braided lines,and the difference is phenominal.

thats right, for street use slotted will do the job & depending how hard you drive.... EBC or BENDIX with the braied lines & it will be a different car......But the EBC green stuff aren't disc friendly meaning that they will chew the s**t out of the rotors, but they will work, more for hard street & track days....
there are other brands of brake pads out there, I use mainly these two brands for genreal use & saloon cars.......

perhaps only depending on how you use the car?

ive had my DBA slotted and CROSS DRILLED rotors for nearly a year now with NO probs WHAT-SO-EVER...

Didn't DBA release a statement that this problem has been reduced with a new design.

I will have to have a look.

perhaps it was just a "bad batch" of cross drilled and slotted rotors' that failed a couple of time giving them a bad name.. "only take a couple of bad stories to drag the disc's down with public being scared to commit to them..

A good option is a relatively new RDA rotor that is slotted & instead of cross drilled they have dimples ( like only the depth of tip of the drill has been used). I forget the part number. They are a gold anodised color.
I am using these with EBC Reds.

So no go on the ones from e-bay then??

How much for a set of discs?? And would I need to replace both front and back or just the front??

davro_xr6 If you wish to improve your brakes, then do both ends. Funds allowing, braided lines, and SRT pads from Hightec brakes-one of our sponsors.
