Funny that when i ran an EL ecu in my EB1 and hadnt linked the trans to it yet...(still ran seperate auto comp) it lost power and used ALOT of fuel 300km to a tank as soon as i put the Auto onto the EL ECU the consumption went back to normal 500-600km and improved power.
Was not my imagination.

i have been told that it increases your redline by 500rpm

You will have gains in low to mid torque and you will feel it! its quite healthy! you will gain about 300rpm on rev cut out i think.

and about the EL ecu for improvements another thing you may gain some top end... but very little without the EL cam etc...

No ones saying you're wrong.

I remember we went through equating pinouts between the TCM and the corresponding EL ECU trans inputs.
In the first scenario, the EL ECU wouldn't be getting inhibitor switch position (PRND321) and trans temp ??? This sounds like LOS (covered in my last post) to me - timing reduced to 0deg, injectors fire with each PIP - hence lack of performance and high consumption. This can be proved by checking with a timing light and revving the engine - the timing will be as like base timing, except you're not in base timing mode.

Yeah that would be correct! LOS.... LOS AND LHM lol either way it was p****d.
It was a pity i only got to enjoy that for 1 week. The conversion was no fun in the ED..... Run a BBM switch wire and fan signal wires. Cant remember if there was anythin else??.....Dnt think so. No fun!

There is no difference in terms of fuel consumption with Auto and Manual ECU I drove around for 2 years with auto ECU it was by fluke my dad found a manual one for me.
The manual one is a bit smoother for changing gears I think it keeps idle up for a few seconds when clutch depresed.

Assuming that its set up correctly yes. you just need to run the 2 Signal wires to the EL relay box i did this... its just next to the Airbox you can get 1 from a wrecker for bugger all thats what i did... But i linked the 2 signal wires together because i wanted them on High speed or not at all. low speed isnt enough and high speed doesnt come in till 104C and thats just Dumb, The fans come on at about 80C.

hmm allrighty ,
so i need an EL relay box is that all for a bbm/thermo fan conversion? how hard is it to wire up a relay box cheeres all |

its really EASY..... You will have 2 Earths to connect. 1 to the battery and one to the body. and the 1 positive.. i think the signal wires are BLUE on the relay box will be 2 of those and one RED wire for Ignition ON. and the plugs for the fans should plug straight in. If i had my car here id go and have a look for ya :S going off memory..
