just made the run from Newcastle to my new home of Sale via Canberra, day one was uneventful, the old girl (EF V8) trundled up the highway with bike on the trailer in tow (about 350kgs and a full boot), day two however the tranny started to do strange things, it seems like it just drops out of gear, then find one again, it can be 2nd or 3rd, or drive again, or when it needs to drop back it goes to far and finds 2nd not 3rd, I thought it was the cruise playing up, but it did it when I had control, and it's not a speed thing as it dropped out at a set of lights just as we were taking off, I'm hoping it just needs a service and didn't like the climbing over the mountains, I do have a tranny cooler and we were driving in cold conditions, so I don't think it was heat related, just wondering if anyone may have other ideas as to what it could be, that I may be able to fix myself.
