I have ef 6 cylinder auto with xr8 lsd 3.23 ratio, seeming as i work for a tyre store i thought id try something a bit dodgy, just for the weekend ,ive fitted 195-60-15 tyres to the rear and the car does pull alot harder once in motion, typical near stocko bit sluggy off the mark but what im trying to workout if anyone hear is good at mathematics what would that make my diff ratio?????the diff was only $200 not as slippery as id like but a suitable rebuilder in the future and just want to know what gears to run 4.11 is the recommended or do i just go 3.70 and bite the bullet with a 5 speed, my only concern with the fitment of a 5 speed is ive heard i would have to remove the dash to fit the pedal box,is this true, the rest of the conversion doesnt worry me

Just buy a malwood clutch pin from malwood automotive in canberra. Its $95 posted to your door I think and it takes about 15 minutes to install and you will have a clutch pedal. SOoooo much easier then changing the pedal box.

you either change the brake pedal for a smaller manual one.
or some people prefer to just take to their auto pedal with a hacksaw.

changing the pedal box takes f**k all time, if you don't put a manual box in your a lazy C*** (either can't find one, or cbf puttin one in) or a p***y (removeing dash is a peice of piss)

Yep go a 5 speed with no shorter than 3.73 diff.
Or you can keep the auto and fit 4.11's and a high stall. Manual is more fun, but keeping the auto will be a hella lot cheaper and you might end up faster |

if i did do the conversion i would prefer to put the box in do it properly,as they say,so you do drop the whole dash or just section of it i dont know???only ever converted me old xf years ago???i just want the thing to accelerate a bit harder without spending a million bucks like the rest of us,i drive 50km to work and back everyday so do appreciate the auto, and dont want to be breaking clutch cables every 6 months, might have to have a look around at U PULL IT,wreckers get some ideas

to put the pedal box in is easy...
remove dash fascia remove cetre console drop the steering colom by removing the 2 bolts under the instrument cluster remove upper dash pannel remove kick pannels undo 5 screws along the top of the dash undo the 4 bolts along the bottom (one under each kick pannel, and one under where the centre console meets the front of the car **using 2 people** lift the dash off the mounts, and place on the seat then u can remove the pedal box its prolby easier to undo the bolts on he lower pedal box while the dash is still on the mounts, and remove the brake switch too....
