ok im after peoples opinions of what my problem is.. haha

was testing my oxy sensor in the ea to check if its running ok.

pulled apart the plug, it was full of a creamy like substance im assuming corrosion of some description..

anyway sprayed contact cleaner into the plug and plugged back together.

also took the ecu off of its thing holding it to the car, which undid the ground on the ecu. put the ground back on and went for a drive

had the multimeter in the plug and grounded. went for a drive to make sure it was functioning ok.
drove to the shops and it ran perfectly nothing at all different to normal. purcahsed a snack, got back in the car.. start then stall.. would not idle at all..

so i started it and stood on the accelerator. and held it idling at 1200. managed to drive it home, but it wont stay running after being turned on.. after its been for a drive, it will idle but at about 300-500 not around 700-800 where it normally idles

what did i stuff up hahah:
oxy sensor
computers mixture settings
some other wire is stuffed
or is the car just a lemon that should be burnt

i also noticed a plug orangeblack and orangegreen... that wasnt plugged into anything? should it be? i have no idea what its for and my wiring diagrams dont show that combo on any particular plug or accessory.

thankyouuuuuuu anyone :D

I'm not much help on the other suggestions, but I'm pretty sure that the oxy sensor won't be causing stalling issues.

I second that, if its anything like EF/EL its more likely the intake temp sensor (IAT) or idle speed controll (ISC) sensor. The oxy sensor doesnt do much at all on start up.

i replaced my oxy with a brand newwy. drove it and it was fine. the next day, the thing stuttered at startup.

after replacing the ignition system ($500) the timing was out. had that fixed, and replaced the battery.

timing is still out a bit.

i'd say the ecu is a bit rooted. not sure, i dont think the EA's had ISC but i'd say it could be injectors if the oxy gave the ecu a faulty reading. ???

who knows.

(in answer to your question, yes, burn your EA and claim insurance)

i suggested oxy sensor because the fact that was the only thing i played with, aside from having the ecu out.

the IAT and ISC will be tested after ive eliminated that the oxy sensor wasnt a problem in the first place. But i dont see why they would have stuffed up coincidentally after i unplugged the oxy sensor.

i plugged in the old auto ecu, had the same symtoms, leading me to believe its a hardware error, not software.

 its all fun and games playing with cars

I'm having a similar issue with my car. I posted about it but no bastards replied yet, lol. But yea, once you start mine its got no idle at all, just stalls. Runs perfectly fine if you keep ur foot on the pedal, but it wont idle by itself. I bought a new ISC and bashed on, but it didnt help. Might have to check the intake temp and ISC sensors maybe?

in the process of checking the isc.. i bent the plug.. dunno if that shafted something or not..

my alternator is also showing a low as charge 12v even when car is on.. lower

new oxy sensor hasnt changed much...

driving around in 5th gear, if i drop to say 55 and try to power back to 60.. it feels like its missing.. it will stutter and then decide to go.. dunno if thats the clutch slipping or bad fuel mixture.
