Hey guys, my door rubbers (whats the official name for them?) have faded and gone white in some areas. Is there a product i can use to make them shiny and black again :D

Lightly sand them, wipe with "wax & grease remover", spray plastic primer, matt black paint, then clear gloss... will come up like new.

I didnt even use plastic primer, just normal primer and its still looking good after 5 months.........

thanks guys, ill try giving them a good wash, and spraying some tyre shine to start.

if that doesn't work ill try back to black (ive seen this product before)

if all the fails ill try painting them again


if that fails ill burn the car :shock:


(last one was exaggerating)

You can try with the rubber sprays, but what youll find is that the hardened coating on the rubber has turned to s**t and fallen off so the only way is to buy new ones or paint over. Heres how mine turned out..

ther are many products that revuvinate the plastic or just try black boot polish :)

looks good painted mate, was it a simple case of masking everything or did u somehow take them off or take the windows off?

No, just mask up everything, depending on how paranoid you are, cover some of the bonnet, boot and roof to protect from overspray.
