so ive got this real pain the a** roadworthy guy doing the usual s**t scams, finding every little s**t thing possible...stuff like the gear selector globe not illuminating and seatbelts with nothing wrong etc

i just want to know what is the actual minimum tread depth as stated in the regs...

I would have assumed that it was just to the tread wear markers.
Which are the little pieces of rubber that sit up in the lines of tread. Once those are level with the rest of the tyres, they're unRWC.

The height of the head of a match stick I think is the minimum legal depth.

forget measurments, thats what the tread markers are for. run your finger along the tread grove and feel for a bump, thats the tread marker. if your tyres tread are above this marker then your tyres are roadworthy. if there bald or below this marker on the edges then they are unroadworthy.
