hi people,
i own a 1997 el ford falcon, and latley i have noticed a wierd sound to my car, when ever i turn it off, like as if something is banging aganst the engine, or as if rocks get thrown around in the engine, im not a mechanic, i was just wondering how i could fix the problem, it happens everytime (after the car is warmed up) everytime whenever i rev the car or when i turn it off. any advice would be sweet, thanx. |

Do you have a oil pressure gauge in it? could be it, oil been changed lately?

nah i bought the car from a dealer, about 2 months ago, i havnt ever changed the oil, see it was working fine till about 1 month ago...
and since im not a mechanic, im not good with finding these problems.. thankyou anyways, i will change the oil filter and oil, see how it goes, and where about would the oil pressure gauge be? because there is none on the dash, not that im aware of. |

You will only have an idiot light then, does it ever come on? only other way is to use a pressure gauge and a T peice to check your oil pressure, any worth while mechanis can do it, or its easy to do yourself, where is the rattle from? top end of motor?

there is a light on the dash wich has a oil sign.. its on every time before i turn on the car..
can you describe how i would go about checking the oil pressure.. i was wanting to put some gauges down under the cd player, next to the gear stick, but im still thinking on that. |
