Hmm, with a lower ratio it makes it take off like a slug doesnt it ;)

Im not to sure why they put such a tall diff ratio in. Id say it would be for fuel economy because the car barely revs at 100k's. I wouldn't say the car takes off like a slug but it takes a few secs to get into where most of your power is.

Hmm, sits just under 2,000rpm at 110kph..
I've been tuning the air idle knob on the gas mixer - i turned the air knob like 30-40 turns anti-clockwise from where i had it that was getting me 11L to the 100km's highway driving. . . For the worse it turns out :)

Might just back it off and leave it :)
Thanks for everyones contributions :)
Matt

Hey mate, can i ask if you think the cash spent on your falcon was worth while?
I see youve had a bit of work done, im sure its quicker, does it make it more economical when you drive like a grandma? ;)

And is it much quicker? Is it comparable to an EL XR6 or XR8?
Cheers
Matt

Yeah the money was well spent. The fuel economy is heaps better when your just cruising around but when you boot it, it starts to use it alot more. My dad use to have an AUIII XR6 and my brother use to drive it every now an then. I gave a brother a shot in mine and he said it was heaps quicker then the XR6. Probly alot of people think im talking sh!t but i keep up with all the BA XR8's and SS untill about 90 or so then they start to pull away, so the car goes alright. I raced a Gen 3 VX calias last week and he was half a car in front of me at 120kph.

Man i dont think your fulla s**t!! maybe some of those hybrids had something else.... I had my 4.11's, Pacies, 2500 Stall, EL EFI and a Hybrid EL motor in my old Blue EB fairmont and that thing was f**k nuts man... Off the mark youd spin 1st for as long as u wanted in the dry and hit second and hold spin for a bit... I flogged my fair share of BA, beat a XR6 T up to 90, Beat a BF XR6 Ute up to 100 and kept pulling away and flogged so many v8 holdens v6 arnt even worth the fuel.

Diff gear up your EL! and then you will really feel the power.

Its when you go to take off. Your car wont take off unless it hits 2500rpm, it gives a massive boost on take off. Sort of like droping the clutch in a manual.

Well thats sorta of right.....but not...if you have a 2500 stall you can still take off with light throttle and not be at 2500 my 2500 stall you could still do a low rev take off like 1500 it would move forward well.
