is it possable to fit a BA oil pump on a AU to save running the aux shaft and oil pump drive, i have heard that the BA's oil pump runs directly off the crank and pump near twice the voulume of a AU.

I would say it is not possible. here is a (fuzzy) pic of the BA courtesy of Dansedgli.

Much better to blue-print a brand new AU oil pump from scratch. I bought a new pump for $80 ish, stripped it and checked all the clearances were satisfactory. Then i got into it with the die grinder and chamfered all the sharp turns and edges. I then sent the pump gears, the cover plate and the drive shaft off to Extreme Rotaries to be isotropically finished (micro polished). Then i re-checked all clearances on assembly and shimmed the relief valve with a new welch plug installed backwards to increase the pressure.

Thats pretty much about as much as you can do to blueprint an oil pump.
