Not sure if it's the appropriate forum to be asking, but if I were to perform a manual conversion on an EF/EL Fairmont, do you think it would hinder the resale value of it significantly?

No, it will make it more appealing as the EF Fairmonts did not come out with a manual.

As it is, the Ef Mont's are worth sweet f**k all these days so a manual conversion would be a well sought after mod if your ever looking to sell imo

Yeah, I was thinking that. Because they're all Auto and I was thinking of getting an EL 'Mont in the future, and I'm not too fond of auto boxes. I was just assuming that people wouldn't want a manual luxury car.

I converted my Ef mont to a manual and its the best thing ive done to the car, but the most costly.

If i was to buy another EF, it would be the first mod on the list, as ive found it had the best improvement on driveability and performance than all the previous engine mods combined.

Not too sure about resale value.........I spose if you find another ford enthusiast who wants that particular model, and not need to source their own box/do the work, then absolutely, get afew hundred bucks back.....(most likely breaks even with what you paid for the conversion in the 1st place tho.....)

how can you compare a luxary german brand to the FORD brand? for the money to get into a brand new BMW you'd expect that..
