Been reading wikipedia and it seems to stop the over steer that EF's suffer from, we can simply replace it the the diff cover plate from a EL and possibly the Watts linkage too.
found it here {DESCRIPTION} It says that the EF suffered oversteer in corners and was fixed by lowering the pivot point of the Watts linkage by 20mm. So if i thought this out right we can just replace the diff cover with a EL one and move the Watts linkage down 20mm and the car in theory should handel better. What do you guys think.

There is more than just the hat pickup point, the upper control arms are different as well.

HEHE, why change the car's tendancy to oversteer, when the car has a very predictable handling characteristic as it is.
I am quicker around the skidpan in my s**t old ef grandad car than typhoons, xr6 turbos etc... haha sucked in to understeer

I think your time and money would be better spent upgrading your front and rear swaybars - if you're going whiteline, choose the EL 30mm front bar over the EF 30mm front - they're around $40 cheaper, you do need to use EL D bush brackets though - around $10 from the wreckers.
And of course ensure your shocks are up to scratch, and use a pinchbar to check all your bushes.

i was having a look under an xr6 rear end and the upper arms are heaps different....also the mounting point on the body has been relocated by using some addapter thingy....
i think the EL followed along the lines of the EF XR6...not sure how much they changed on the EL xr6 ill try to get some pics showing what im on about

In my experience EL's as a general rule do handle a fair bit better than EF's - stock that is.
As snap said, you'd be better off going swaybars. |
