i hope some one can help.. here's my dilema..
The rear inner door trim on an EL ghia rear door is shorter than the equivelent inner rear fairlane door trim right? *wouldnt mind fairlane trims.. Cheers for any help guys... |

umm no...your wrong! everything fits perfect except for the rear seat!

100% correct door trims will go straight in... rear seat will go in also with slight bracket modification (did on my EL) rear seat side bulster BUMBUM!!! will not fit!! |

Well the door trims are 99% the same.
IIRC the rear door trims differ slightly with the 2 fastening screws adjacent to the door hinges. The GLI/futura trims (without the proper armrest) have the screws parallel to the door skin, the armrest trims have them at 90deg. Since you're going from fairmont to fairlane, they'll be the same, otherwise those two screws can be lightly glued in place to look like screws are there - the trim won't flex or anything. I hope I'm making sense.

Found that when i did the power window conversion for the EF. 2 screws are pointing towards the front of the car for the GLi and out on the fairmont. i just havnt put them in.

reason being i wouldnt mind getting the fairlane armrests that have the leather cushion on the arm rest.. even better if i could get the armrests with the cushion seperate to the door trims as i allready have cappa EL GHIA wood grain and leather door trims..

will fit perfectly one other difference between ef, el, and like is couple of trim screw along the edge are different ef straight in looking at the door el as along the side hard to explain without pics
