i was just wondering what wire remains 12VDC weather the engine is on or off not 13.8.. Or can this be achieved by running a new wire from the battery??

Thanks,
Chris

no wire will remain exactly 12vdc with the engine running because the alternator produces power at 13.8vdc, 12v to run ur car an 1.8 to charge ur battery, the only way u could get 12v with the car running is use a resistor but once the car it off it would = 10vdc or similar. most electrical items won't mind 13.8 n e way ?

it depends on what your intentions for this wire is. and what model car you have.

if you have a test light / multi meter just put it on them. there will be a constant power going to the stereo, and also to the ignition switch.

Why do you need exactly 12vdc for?
