I want more low down grunt from my 6 running on gas
Any thoughts on the matter. Better fuel economy would be nice too.

That's certainly a good place to start reading.

If you're not going turbo/supercharge, a BBM conversion is certainly worth it on an XH, along with changing the ED camshaft.
Adding an EL Tickford LPG ECU will help fuel economy, and give you a bit better pull up hills.
I'm running a std EF cam with the above setup, and I have to say it's made a fair difference, particularly in torque around 50-80 kmh. Moneywise it only cost me around $150 for those items - so shop around.

I did pickup some new extractors for $150, which made more improvement also.

It depends on what you want - the above setup may be too tame for you.
