Howdy peoples, just wondering which is the way most people go about changing there oil press senders. From having a quick look at it today it seems as if pulling the oil filter off and attacking it from that angle, 2nd option is taking the intake manifold off, wich is the most common way of going about it?

Well, you could spend about 3 hours d**k around with the manifold or you could spend about 20 minutes if you jack the car up at remove the oil filter. Easiest way to do it is to have yourself the proper socket. You can buy a socket which is designed to fit over most oil pressure switches or use an appropriate spanner or shifter to remove it.
Simple. Hope this sways your way of thinking about doing the job.

Or you cold save moretime with a decent ratchet and a long reach socket. Take the damn intake pipe out and even the thermo's (im thinking of ef) and attack it like that...
But DO A SEARCH and it does work

ea- ed easist way is oil filter off , ef onward long extension and remove the air intake hell of a lot cleaner lol

I managed to get mine off by simply removing the snorkel and kinking the top radiator hose out of the way. I think I also pulled off the thermostat housing plugs, and there was just enough room to wiggle my arm in there to do the job.
Mind you, you want to try it this way on a cold engine only

yea it wasnt quite as simple, seeing as it was a sender not a switch so no socket in the world will fit over it, anyway i ended up having to replace the intake manifold gasket aswell so i just pulled the manifold to the side and managed to fit a 17mm spanner down there and got it off that way, god i hate those log manifolds lol

I have a very nice set of stubby spanners that I got years ago from autobarn. For a $50 set of tools, the quality is great. Wouldn't be able to do half the work I do without them.
