Im going around on friday having at look at some au motors that im going to be working on next year.

just wondering if i could get some tips on things to looks for?

obviously i don't expect them to be perfect inside, but i don't want a complete bomb either...what types of things should i looks for?

I think a good way to tell a motors health or K's (roughly) look under the oil cap for a silver colour .... If its dark brown or black stay away...

When you say your going to be working on it? What do you mean? If your gunna rebuild it surely it only needs to be in reasonable condition?

One major factor for a stuffed engine is corrosion so if the engine is still in the car, Look at the cooling system and see if it has anti-corrosive coolant in it.
