Helo,

just about to start transplant of EECIV auto 302 from EB1 fairmont ghia to 1968 XT ute.

Does anybody know of anywhere that does a modified transmission crossmember.

Or of any little traps in the swap.

Regards

Dont know about crossmember but, if you use the 5L accesories the Air Con pump hits the LH shock tower on the XA-XC's rotate the bracket as far as the holes allow, counterbore the A/C pump and use an allen headed bolt. This usually gives sufficient clearance.

Oh and the alternator fouls the battery.

Are you using the power steering?

i have done this swap in a xg, not sure on how similar the trans mounts are on a xt, but i needed a shortened tail shaft.
the trans computer needs to be wired and i adaptoded the xg 6 cyl 4 speed shifter(works perfect)needs a bracket made and fitted to the body for the shifter.

with the cross member i slotted the two outer holes as far as i could on the flat surface, then the centre rubber mount hole in the opposite direction as far as i could.looks factory

probably dosent help but if you get desperate and think it may help pm me and i will take some photos for you

I did the electrical side of a conversion into an XF ute, all they did was weld a 5mm plate to the crossmember and bolt the rear mount to that, pretty much the same way i mounted the C4 into my EA wagon.

Also if the ecu is a smartlock ecu, you will need a bypass module, which i can supply.

EA 3sp auto crossmembers have a bomerang shape apposed to the straight EB, i done a 4sp auto to 4sp man borgy conversion and the 3sp EA crossmember works a treat, might be worth a look anyways
