Will a T5 currently on a ED come off and hook up to an EF (Auto) easy or will there be s**t to modify?
ED being a 4.0 liter cant see there being much difference... |

it will all fit, but the ECU is different in your ef compared to the eb.
you can trick your auto ecu by butchering your wiring harness that hooks up to the auto transmission, but that makes the car run a bit funny still. find a manual ecu and it will run sweet, go hard

You can use the auto ef ECU, you will need to Bridge ECU pins 91 and 64 with a 6500 to 7600 ohm resistor. This will tell the ecu it is nutural, and will prevent that limp crap.
The next problem you whill have is the thermo's staying on, All you need for that is a resistor between the Auto temp sender wire & earth IIRC. Last but not least you will have to Bridge the 2 wires for the inhibitor swith. Otherwise it wont start. I think thats it

i think ill just chase a manual ecu, sounds like a lot of screwing around I'm not sure about EF's, but when i did my manual conversion I had to do the resistor trick to get my EL running...seems to work fine, except for the occasional close encounter with stalling (just up the idle speed). All i did was, kept the wiring loom under the car, got the resistors and plugged them in...rather then cut and solder. Got heaps electrical tape and taped the crap out of it. So long as the resistors sit in the loom nice and tight with tape around it to save it from the elements...it should work... hope that helps phong =P~
