hello, can anyone tell me if a top loader gearbox has a reverse light switch set up like on the other four speed manual boxes?? If not and i needed a roadworthy on the car will i need to set up something that puts the reverse lights on or will they let it slide??

I pretty sure they had a switch on the box, and yes it does have to have one and work for a RWC.

Mine has a switch hanging off the bottom of the shifter linkage. Do you need reverse lights to pass if your car never had them from the factory? (76 XB)

If it didnt come factory you wont need them. Even if it didnt have a switch on it u could setup a circuit for it in easy enuf.

They used the blinkers as reverse lights on the old stuff. Even HQ holdens had that.

Thanks for that, I'll knock something up to make the blinkers come on as a reverse light to keep the boys in blue happy.
