Hi All,
My drivers side window in the BA XR6T has this annoying fluttering sort of noise from around the top of the glass where it seals when it is fully closed. I have taken it back to FORD 3 times to get it fixed. They claim to be adjusting the height / tilt of the window to fix it - but it NEVER gets fixed. It is VERY annoying as its right next to my ear when im driving - can anyone suggest a permanant fix - or had a similar problem? I have given up on for service. They try their best... but still no luck. CIA Adz

Is it under warranty? Tell them you want the window rubbers etc replaced, or take it to another dealer.

Are you sure it's the window ? The door lock knob/pin in mine rattles around hitting the side of the hole it goes through and it drives me mad. I'm going to try putting a tiny bit of silicon or a thin rubber sleeve around it to deaden the rattle but it still has the be able to freely actuate.

so when ford recall the window rubbers from the dealer and find nothign wrong with them (not saying there isnt anythign wrong just suggesting) and reject the warranty claim, who pays for that |

car is now out of warranty, but my dealer keeps trying to fix it under warranty...
I dont think its the door lock pin as i can only hear it when the window is fully up. its almost as annoying as my drivers side seat that squeaks like a b**ch if you go over bumpy roads etc.... Damn these cars have a terrible build quality

Damn these cars have a terrible build quality That might be a broken seat base. I've seen some BA's that have slight cracks in the bases near the seat rails from having the seat sitting further back. Gives an annoying squeak when the seat moves around. |

is it fixable?
Have you come across any BA that have a horrible creak coming from the parcel shelf? Ford changed my diff bush thinking that is where the creaking was coming from. however it is still there and im certain it is coming from the parcel shelf???

I think with the seat the base got changed. Don't know with the BA's if the base is removable from the rails like in an EF/EL/A series.
Worse case you could get the seat out and weld the crack's if that is the problem. We found it by taking the seat out and having a good look. The cracks were minute which was part of the problem. |

Never heard of that one. But might be something thats simply loose.
Maybe take the thing out yourself. Make sure the speakers are all still secure. Seatbelt secure. Maybe one of the seat latches is loose letting the seat move around when the body moves. Could even be the parcel shelf cover rubbing on the body metal. |
