from what i can see it will fit in with the rrs notching kit and as for trans the t56 will do the job . The sump will have to be cut and shaped to fit as well. i,ve dropped the xf shell and gone with an v8 xd shell for strength ( advised by engineer ).

All modular engines(4.6,5.4,6.8) share the same patterns. Not trying to undermine you Pete, but some "very" early 4.6L modular V8's had small block bolt pattern, but I would have no idea about engine mounts, never looked into this (I was after a tranny, not the engine ). If I were to get serious about using a modular I would base it off a late Cobra 4.6L DOHC or if dollars are no option 5.0L Cammer crate engine, it would be cool to have a sweet sounding V8 that can also scream like a Banshee! Anyone got a link to those all alloy aftermarket (5.4 like) 6L block?

Today @ Warwick Farm AFD there was an XE wagon (well it had an XE front, never checked compliance plate) fitted with a 260 modular V8, it definitely did not have RudeRideSuspension front end.
I wouldnt want to change plugs but it cleared, I was very surpised how well it fitted.

That was the most impresive one off custom car there

Pete. I will blame that post on drugs, lack of sleep, long day or all of just stated.

That was the most impresive one off custom car there I will say, and I hadnt noticed the car, it was just FM members told me to have a look. The most impressive thing for me was the fact it didn't go backwards by fitting RRS, I know front X series suspension isn't that good but you could do a whole lot more than fit a McPherson strut setup, just look what Pete is fitting to his Cougar.
