Had the Lane serviced today, at the Ford dealer, along with some other problems, the fix to a creaky steering rqck, is to move the K frame,
 but its not covered under warranty, cause its a adjustmernt, not replacement, lol, C***. They dont do discs under warranty??? and dont hold any in stock, wtf, of all things you think they would hold for BAs is those. $291 to change the oil, and a SAFETY check, lol, no ownder i do it myself, but its under warranty, and if not for the other probs, i would have gone elsewhere.

be grateful you dont have a subaru my 50000km service was 750 bucks and the 100,000km service is around 1500 ha ha oh well its worth it

that's like my 2 DAY service - all they did was an oil change, put some coolant in (didn't find the leak
 ) and adjusted the headlights. sll for $230

Havent got much choice, here, Its the only Ford dealer for 100s of kms, so if ya want warranty work, thats it. Now i found out f**k all of it is covered, i will get one of the mechanics at work to do it, well i will, he can watch.

Is the car still under the new car warranty, or is this one of those dodgy used car warranties that really cover SFA?
If it's a new car warranty, K-Frame should 100% be covered, but discs will not be - they are a consumable item. Re the service for $290 that's ridiculous! Even Holden charged well under $200 for a major service back when I had a VX a few years back. |

Even Holden charged well under $200 for a major service back when I had a VX a few years back. rediculous anywhere except north west WA, where mechanics get paid heaps more etc. with regards to the warranty on adjustments, thats true after 3000km. (Check your warranty policy guide if you dont believe me) however there is a TSB on steering creak and it is covered IF it is caused by the issue the TSB speaks of. North West Ford are usually pretty good, but im led to believe they are having an off week. Who did you deal with up there Also if its a BA it needs to have had the rotors machined (and claimed thru ford) 3 times before they will pay for disc replacement. |

they wont cover discs, so i will just whack some slotteds on, only thing they will cover is a leak from the timing case bolts??? they need to seal the bolts? or should they replace the seal.

sealing the bolts is the best option.
there is no seal on BA/BF timing covers except for very early ones. They are just stuck on with sikaflex. |

i thought they used 3 bond or is that subaru lol the 6 in the suby has 56 bolts in the timing cover it is of the gay

theres still a crank seal, but where the timing case joins the block/head is just sealed with sealant
