Howdy folks, so driving home in peak hour traffic with headlights, sterio and all sorts on in the car, and the alternator dies, musta gone to god yesterday sometime. Anyway battry goes flat and car stops, after running like a dog and letting me pull over to a side street and to a car park. So i pulled the battry out to charge it up tonite, pulled the alternator off while wating for someone to come get me, now all i gotta do is find another alternator, its for a i6 on a XG. Fuel injected.
Does anyone have one spare i can buy? Id rather the money go to someone hear rather then get my pants pulled down over a price over the counter somewhere. Cheers. Scotty

i must say i had no idea how expensive thows friggin things are, a quote for a re-build was 250-300, and replacment was extra!
so i went for the povo option and got one from the wreckers for 70 bucks. So i had to try fit it back in on the side of the road and that was fun... people jogging by (i was on the yarra boulavard out the front of the rowing sheds) where getting a education on a new form of bad language comming from under the bonnet of a XG ute. But all is good, after a few squeques and a few attemts at getting good tension from the limit tools i had she is running fine and quiet again.
