Hi everyone.
I've been wondering if there would be any benefit in me advancing the timing on my Windsor a fraction. I always run it on 95 RON or better and since they were mapped for 91 RON is it worth it?

There are known to be gains from this but only just noticeable... same as mine, it made a slight difference, for performance, and fuel eceonomy... (it couldve been the new air filter)... there's no harm really, unless you go too far.

As for 95RON, if you are running premium fuel, 98 is probably the way to go, especially if you are advancing timing. (BP Ultimate, and Shell Optimax), this prevents pre-ignition.

Cheers

Go for it, until it starts to ping. You get better performance.. Mine is at 34 deg atm.

Hey Darin, yeah nothing wrong with upping the timing, most of the guys in eseries are running about 32*btdc i think. You wont be disappointed.

If you do so, better play it safe and go for 98RON. BP ultimate is the bomb

Well, if the rain stays away this weekend I'll have a play with the dizzy.
I'll put the G Tech on Monty and see exactly if there is any improvement :)

that couldn't possibly be at base timing at idle.
