gday all.....ive finally gotten around to installing my other amp (the 4 channel) and i got it all wired up and everything and turned it on it sounded all good nice clear sound and all.....then i went back to the car a hour later to go out somewhere and i turned the car on and the speakers were screetching.....and it squeals intune with the engine revs? i did the earth exactly the same as i did for the monoblock just on the otherside of the car so i dont know what it could be? are both grounds supposed to be run to the same point? or could it be the remote wire or something else?? cheers ash

yea ive checked the ground on the amp its fine.....and when i disconnect the rca's from the amp the sound completely goes. does this mean its the grounding of the head unit? the ground wire of the head unit is run to the factory ground wire am i better off to make a new ground for it instead?

By the way, there are heaps of threads on this...try searching
anyways since you already started a new thread. Are your RCA's near the power cable? As in are RCA's running parallel to the power cable in close proximity. If you ran both the RCAs and power cable down the same side of the car, that is your problem right there. The RCA is picking up noise from the power cable and producing the whining noise which goes in tune with revs. Make sure the RCA's don't run parallel to the power cable. If the two cables need to cross, make them cross perpendicular to each other. If that doesn't solve the problem then maybe there is a bad ground. phong =P~

lol yea i just found another thread.......would've helped if i read one more page forward. that thread didn't really help though..........my power cables are run the opposite side to the rca's. the only thing i can think of is someone said to earth the rca's at the back of the head deck and that should stop it so i might give that a try.....i dont want to have to use a noise suppressor so ill try everything else anyone's got to recommend

ok i went and tried wrapping wire around the ring of the rca at the back of the cd player to a ground and yes that cut all the whine out completely so thats worked. but only thing was i went to put the cd player back into the din hole and as soon as the deck touched the metal frame that it sits in it started the squeal again? how do i earth the metal frame? im lost now

just run an earth wire from the decks chassis to ground and retry. sounds like you have some leakage some where. where do you have your amp mounted

amps are mounted on the rear seats as shown below...

whats the best way to earth the deck chassis? drill a hole at the back, wire in through that to the car??

ok i dont know if anyone can help but ive figured out exactly what it is thats causing the problem......when the cd player itself touches the deck chassis it doesnt affect it......but when the bracket screwed onto the side of the cd player touches the chassis then instantly i get the engine noise back?? can anyone help with ideas? im currently trying to wrap the brackets in electrical tape and screws hoping this will do something???

don't think that would work. I think there is a loose wire floating about touching that particular bracket. Make sure all wires not in use are taped up nicely. BTW is that a A6004T and a A8001? I got a A4004T and the A8001  nice amps though they heat up like crazy.

ahh ok ill go check that now........im sure everything is taped though.......process of elimination so ill get there soon i guess...........yea i got the A6004T and the A8000T......bloody pump hard and great sound quality......look schmick too

nope not a single wire that i can see thats not soldered and taped over in there to touch it....im lost for ideas
