Gday,

A mate has just bought an XA continental coupe with 3 on the tree and a 250.

He's thinking of putting an injected 6 in there and a e series 6 seems to be on the cards. The conversion is purely for economy and he doesnt care about power, which I find hard to believe, but anyway...

We'd be doing a manual conversion at the same time.

Does anyone know that model donor car would be the best for the conversion and what we would need? eg
engine mounts
radiator
wiring loom

Would there be any issues with bonnet clearence?

Cheers,

Matt

just find a EB falcon , should be enough goodies in there , 1 thing to note is you are going to need XG engine mounts as they bolt up to X series x-member mounts im pretty sure a few guys could / maybe correct me on that

Thanks mate. Iv been doing a bit of searching and other threads say XG mounts are the way to go.

Haha beat you 2 it Benny! Cant wait to see the look on Sams face when we drop a new donk in the XA without telling him. Poor Sam.

Nah, our mate will have it down here in about 2 weeks. It'll be a white continental coupe so if you ever see him tell him he's a wuss for not going a Clevo. He'll be driving it every day so it's going to be a very common thing to see in the suburbs.

Lets put that spare 302c Iv got back together and put it in one weekend when hes not looking. Iv got mounts, bellhousing and we can make the radiator work. wont take long to swap over...no exhaust system. We need to hide a camera in the dash to record the look on his face and the girly scream.

I cant believe he wants a 6 when he could have the clevo :?

lol don't do it - had to tow a 351 XF with half an exhaust, FMD that was loud. that motor's going into an XC, if he gets his act together

HAHA, I doubt he would be driving anywhere like that. Id do it just to see the look on his face. We would get it set up before taking it anywhere. 8-)

What would be better power and which better economy?
EB 6 or 250 EFI

Any economy figures for each, taking into account its going into a heavy coupe?

EB 6 I would of thought - wouldn't have thought Fraud would have gone backwards...

Hemi 265? I was very impressed with the economy of mine on the drive down from Queensland - despite the big Holley that gave the cabin a stink of petrol every time you booted it...

Use a xg ute/van as a donor because the loom will be shaped to fit the engine bay
