In the last few days I have noticed that there was a squeaking noise (almost metal on metal) coming from the back of the car. After some trial and error and means of deduction, I think it is in the fuel tank / pump.
The first time it occurred, the fuel was WAY empty. Further than I had ever been. As soon as I put fuel in (only $10) it went away. But now, as soon as the light comes on, it is making the sound again. It happens when the car leans to the right (going around a left corner) and under heavier braking, and gets worse as the fuel goes down. Is this just a subtle way to tell me to fill up or is there possibly something wrong? |
