As per title, just after any advice on replacing head gasket......more particularly with timing s**t, as I done the gasket on my ef as well.....but the setups are diff.....is it just a matter of taking head off, check it, new gasket, back together/????

yeh simple as that. unbolt head clean surfaces check for warping, burnt vavles etc then bolt back together
not need to touch any timing chains or anything just bolt everything back up to proper torque specs. |

Cheers also check and c if the 12 pushrods are bent, replace them if they are.... give the rockers a nice clean....

Do the lifters, they can be done with the head on but is harder to do.

i agree change your lifters while your at it then you know you will not need to change them again, as its a pain in the neck to replace them while the head is on.

hey guys even tho this post is in forced induction ill just ask anyway... lol
whats involved in changing lifters with just taking the rocker cover off ? i have a noisy lifter that just started last week and i kinda wanna get rid of it im only gonna keep the car for another 3-6 months can i just not worry about it ? thx

well you need to remove the rockers and you can buy a tool that will remove the lifter, if you have a lifeter thats mushroomed on the bottom that will not comeout from the top needs to be removed from the bottom end.

oh ok so is there any danger drivin around with a gummed up lifter ?
