here's the problem

First thing in the morning or when I havent driven my car for a few hours or so, when I first put it in drive it slips in first. will only do this for a couple of minutes or first couple of time I take off, when it gets into second its fine. doesnt slip in any other gear but does flare slightly before third gear change sometimes.

what causes this and how expensive to fix? I got another trans in the shed but if its an easy fix, would rather fix it than put the spare trans in.

thanks

could be due to heaps of things. things ill do
1) change tranny oil
2)if oil had lot of little things in it, that look like metal your trannies on it way out.
3)flog the f#*k out of it before it goes if your going to replace it

basically what he said

with the tranny oil change, see if u can get the tranny flushed this changes ALL the fluid in the tranny, rather than a few litres when u drop the pan
