Hi,

Not being mechanically minded, i thought i would post this.

Yesterday arvo, i had the unfortunate incident of blowing my head gasket/cracking the head (i guess i wont know until i take the head off, right?) ...anyways, does anyone know where to start looking in sydney for someone to fix this or even a reco-engine? i realise i could try the wreckers but since ive never looked at getting an engine before, whats to say their motors are any good?

Any help would be appreciated.

look out for a wreckers that sell engines with a good warranty ie parts plus with 6 months (i think you can ad dollars for 12months) and i think some places install it for you they just ad labour to the price of the engine... and i think is cheaper to get aother engine then getting a reco'd head and fitted
