Hi all, just joined the site because i am all outa ideas. i have a AU ute which makes a vibration throughout the car when accelerating, deaccelerating or coasting. The vibration seems to start at 10km/hr and continues to get louder the faster you go. If i turn left the vibration increases and if i turn right it stops completely.

So far i have bought all new tyres, replaced left and right ball joints and hubs. what else could it be! bet ya its something simple

Any Help / tests i can do would be sweet.

thanks

my first thought was a balljoint, could be a bareing.
might sound stupid but get somone to turn the wheels left and check if the tire is hitting somthing

HAHA i wish, making sure the wheel wasnt hitting something was the first thing i looked for and yeh as i said all new ball joints/bearings on the front.

it cant be the tailshaft needing reblancing right? cos it vibrates at very low speeds. could it be the steering rack? although it turns smoothly and doesnt pull. just ideas i got from other fourms

i doubt it would be the tail shaft, the steering rack might have a crack in it. are you loosing any powersteering fluid???

i have been under there and i cant remember seeing any powersteering fuild. also its parked on flat concrete and there isnt any oil/fuild puddles. But even if it was leaking surely the powersteering would suddenly get stiff right? and i can move it with ease, its even smoother now i have had the ball joins replaced

lol good ideas tho, any ideas are helpfull if i can cross them off the list :P

check tightness of the rack they had a recall on the au because they said the racks can come loose we got a letter in the mail and our car had 3 owners they put a dob of weld on top of the rack bolts to stop them from coming loose and falling out

still no luck fixing that vibration

today i swapped the rear and front tyres, still the same vibration.
then i removed the front then the rear brake caliper, vibration still there.
i then completely dismantled the front two wheels and rechecked shockys, bearings, both ball joints and A arm connections. Theres no movement anywhere!! i also check the steering rack. its on there tight.

WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE LOL!!! pissing me off soo much
