Anyone know if it's common for brake cylinders and resevoirs to have magnesium in them?
Quote: PBR Performance Racing brake fluid should not be used in cylinders or reservoirs with high magnesium content.
That's from http://www.pbrperformance.com.au/RacingBrakeFluid.htm Wondering if I can use that fluid in my mountain bike and motorbike... According to http://www.pbrperformance.com.au/ProductCatalog.htm it's fine to use in the EF wagoooon... |

One way of seeing if the Mg content is high is to file some off and light it with a BBQ lighter ( gas one ). If it burns quick and a very bright/blinding light, then it has a high content of Mg. This isn't exactly a scientific way of telling, but gives an indication.

Why don't you try Motul DOT 5.1. It can be used in a system for DOT 3 or 4. I use Castrol Super DOT 4. It works OK.

I like to buy the best I can (regardless of weather I need it or not) - but at the cheapest I can too... |

We use Wurth brake fluid at work. It smells like Uzo. Its the weirdest smelling brake fluid.
