hey when i start my car EF Tickford gas it stalls everytime only in the morning could it be the idel control valve on top of the convertor at the front with the little elec plug in it? also when turning the key to on should it make shoosh like its gas priming?

its the solinoed that opens the idle circuit.If its not working or blocked then the car will not idle and stall.

HI which part are you talking about are you refering to the part that has the electrical plug in it and the hose going to the throttle body connected to it?

it could be that, it could be the idle speed control motor on the throttle body, but it could also be a petrol fuel pump/supply issue, as 99% of LPG setups start on and run on petrol for a few minutes when cold.

I would suggest that you have an inlet vacuum leak somewhere. Firstly check that the plastic inlet runners from the airbox to the throttle body are not split, either along the seams, or somewhere else. Next check the o-ring rubbers on the fuel injectors, do this with a length of garden hose or buy a toy stethescope and place one end in your ear, and the other end near where the injectors enter the manifold. You can quite easily hear ony air being sucked in. Thirdly, if it's a Tickford system, you have a hose going from the airbox across to the converter, make sure there are no splits in that .
For some reason, the Tickford system is sensitive to inlet tract leaks. |
