the 4sp auto in my ef fairmont keeps going into limp home mode and i know that the tranny isnt about to die cause when its not in limp home mode you can give it heaps of currie and it drives normal, but when you slow down at an intersection it goes into limp home mode, and normally to get it out of limp home mode you would have to disconnect the battery but majority of the time it comes out just by turning the car off then starting it again and im off again, any ideas anyone cause this is realyl pissing me off

I just had a similar problem. disconnected the main plug on the side of the box, sprayed some contact cleaner on both sides and made sure it was connected properly. it has been fine ever since.

Its best to have a diagnostic performed and see what fault codes come up otherwise you can be changing all the wrong parts and waisting money. I had the same problem a while back with trans going into Limp Mode, ran diagnostic and it was the S1 soleniod (Shift Soleniod)
