Hi All,

Does anyone know of someone around who can reprogram a TCM for a 5 Litre ED?

There was article from 10 -15 years ago about a guy at Fueltronics who altered the shift points of an EA wagon.

I've done a bit of a search, but haven't come up with anything.

My local Ford dealership had the equipment to do some reprogramming on my ECU, so maybe they would be able to do it.... wouldn't they?

Thanks

Will

AFAIK AU ECU's where the first ones to be reprogrammable.
Older cars can be code checked and forced to run tests on componants etc, but are not reprogrammable.

Hi All,

Isn't there some sort of chip that can be plugged into the TCM to alter its parameters - like the above mentioned fueltronics chip?

Will

Hi All,

Okay...maybe I've been using the wrong terminology here?

Changing the shift points = re-mapping the TCM?

Okay, maybe "re-map" is what I was looking for.

Anyone know of who can do it?

Thanks

WIll

you can scale all the shift points up or down, but as far as remapping inidvidual shift points, then it is not possible.

I remember that article, it was in Budget Build Ups or something like that, I often wonder what happened to them modifying the TCM.

Keep us updated about this.
