Hi guys,
I hope someone can help with my problem: about 5 months ago i changed to artic blue headlights on my EL falcon and since i have used up 5 globes so far (blown filaments)! Has anyone had a similar problem with artic blue lights or is it an electrical problem with my car? thanks.

See if you can measure the voltage whilst the headlights are on and make sure that the engine is running at the time....
The main cause of blowing bulbs is incorrect voltage or excessive vibration.....

it sounds like the votage reulater is ofer powering and making them blow

or the headlight reflector has broken mounts, check for anything loose that can cause vibration.

Globes in the EL's tend to blow pretty quickly, but they shouldn't be blowing that often. |

I personally installed the globes and have made sure that the glass part doesn't touch my skin. If i had touched them the actual globe would deform due to the burning of the grease layer from my skin, which isn't the case.
The globes were checked for security using the default spring loaded mechanism. so i should be able to rule mechanical vibration out (for now). The only thing left is an electrical problem, does anyone know how to test for that? and what exactly would i be looking for? voltage spikes? could it be an old battery? thanks for your help.
