Hi guys,
Stupid question for some, but my mechanically handicapped mind needs all the help it can get. I did a search, but 17 pages on spark plugs seemed too much to sift through! Anyway, What are the advantages in terms of power, economy, torque, idle etc of having new/performance plugs and leads? and what are the best ones to run in my BA? Cheers Dodd |

all the difference that you will get is the economy side.but only if the other ones are really rooted...

yep! its over-rated! just get standard plugs, and when they need replacing, just replace them! $20 per plug isnt worth it!

yea i have ppl all w/e who want to put iridiums and such in for a performance boost.....a mate did couldnt tell the difference between the iridiums and the vgrooves.......vgrooves are a ngk plug that get a better spark than normal and cost the same as a standard plug. ppl are alwayz happy with that....and a set of topgun max300 leads will be good coz they have only about a third of the resistance of normal leads and if u make friends with someone who works at a car shop im sure ull get em as cheap as normals

the thing with saying they have less resistance so must have better spark is wrong. the coil will only put out enough energy to jump the gap. if you are having missfires with good condition standard leads and low resistance leads fixes it, all you are doing is covering up the fact your coil is stuffed. you'd have been better of spending the money on a new coil. |
