They will do nothing but change the ratio of the diff. I dont recomend putting 4.11 ratio's in an Open centre diff.

It will be impossible to get traction.

what needs to be done to use 4.11's? do you just take the gears to a mechanic and he will put them in? or do you need to mod it somehow?
Whats an average price a mechanic would charge to fit 4.11's, if i supply?

you need to buy an LSD centre, the gears do the same job and if you were on a pushbike, its simply a ratio change, you also need to change the centre, that is the part that will see both wheels are given power evenly. open diff means when you light it up,, you leave a single black line on the road, LSD will see that 2 fat black lines are left behind. got it?

but dave mines a limo and it only leaves one line (on private roads of course)...

Im too interested in what a diff place would charge to fit a higher ratio if you supply the gears.

I got 4.11's a few years back and it cost me 900 odd for getting the 9" LSD packed and they even supplied the 4.11's gear set.
