Hi all
I am wrecking out a NCII V8 at the moment to use the motor in my maverick. The LSD is definately being kept to put into the Missus's Fairmont but I am wondering about the auto.
If I have the V8 box rebuilt and change the bellhousing over is it possible to put this into the EL?
If it is possible is there any strength advantage?
A good point i see is I will wind up having an auto box with a dipstick.
Will there be any difference computer wise? From what I can work out the shift kit I have bought for the EL is compatable with the NC box.
Cheers Matt

No. The 5L run a different input shaft to the 6cyl, the dipstick can be put into a late auto, but the V8 and 6cyl boxes are NOT interchangable

Bummer! Any ideas on what to do to the EL auto to toughen it up a bit? Ill be fitting the shift kit within the next couple of days and it already has an external cooler.
Im just going through things bit by bit to get it ready to Turbo next year sometime.
