i went to ford today to ask them wats the difference between a yellow BCM and a red BCM and not surprisingly, they DONT KNOW.

anyway my yellow BCM/Smartlock is fried and ford said that my bcm was the only one i could use in my car, they said it was irreplaceable...

does that mean i have to go out and buy another car?????

and does anyone know the difference between a red and yellow bcm?

my car is an EB series 2 with smartlock (hence why i have the module lol)

hmm, im not 100% certain but you should be able to get a replacement one from the wreckers or something, at worst u might have to reprogram it for your keys or get new keys. and id stay with the yellow ones. the red is ef/el and i dont think they are very swappable.

ive seen red in ab EBII. it relates to the trim level. Have u tried getting the part numbers off the bems and asking ford with the part number?S
