Hey all Got a question for you. The engine in my '88 xf has gone to engine heaven and im not sure what i should put in its place. Im thinking i want something with a bit of power but im on a budget of $500 - $800 What do you all think ??

find the lowest km stocker you can cowboy not much is gona fit into that budget

waiting on my 250 cost me $3000 for rebuild if your going to do it do it right the first time
yep because bush is in Australia the overnite compney not delivering out of sydney today so another weekend waiting |

yes $3000 if you do it right this means every thing not just slap a ring and piston kit than slap a cam and hope it last

if you had more funds you could retro fitt a low km el or au engine into your car.. you can pick up a el or au engine from $500 to $900..
el engine will fit easier than the au one because au has alloy sump.. for less $3000 you can get it running with a low k engine with more power than the old crossflow.. if you dont want to go efi you can fitt a el motor and use a ea cpi manifold and fitt a xf carby.. and it will still have more power than the old x flow.. i fitted a au engine into my ea all up it cost about $2000.. that was engine, bbm manifold, el ecu,all gaskets oil every thing!! |
