Hi all.
I have a 94 ED Futura (ABS) which will be due for new rotors and pads at the end of the year. I have done my research regarding the type of rotors i need but just need to ask those in the know a couple of questions. I have thought about DBA slotted rotors but have heard that they are noisy. Has anyone come across this before? If so, how bad is it? Next question is which pads? I want some quality pads but i dont want to be constantly cleaning that black crap from my wheels. Any thoughts? The car is not modded in anyway motor wise, so its not a quickie. I just want decent brakes. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't like dust and brake sqeal don't get Bendix Ultimates.. they're the bane of my life lol.

I've had dba slotted rotors (front only) on my ef for a year now without any noise. I use lucas pads and they are super dusty but work well.

I've just had newies installed on my Ba xrt. dba slotted rotors all round and ebc 'red stuff' pads on the front and 'green stuff' on the rear. The mechanic told me the 'green stuff' can be noisy and i can agree there is more noise. don't know if thats just apart of the bedding in process. Definately can't complain about the combination though, it stops heaps better!

The slotted rotors can make a whooshing noise. Try changing your brake fluid at the same time, try Castrol Response Super DOT 4. Its in a silver bottle.

I have on my car 4New rotor all DBA Front are Slotted with Bendix Ultimates pads F/R some squeal but not very serious l am very impressed with my brake feel.
only thing is not sure about how the disk will cope with the Bendix Ultimates pads in the long term mileage.

why would you consider slotteds if your car is just a putter,put on dba standard rotors and bendix ultimates,trust me,even if you have the low dust pads you will always have brake dust mate,its just one of those things,

Actually Bendix Standard CT's with good quality fuild behind them on standard ventilated rotors is a good combo. I am running this on my el XR and have NO dust at all.. gold rims stay gold, I do track work as well, end of the day, slotted rotors are for show unless you really push DAMN hard, solids are more them up to task.

Im getting my slotted rotors and bendix GT2 pads fitted tommorow over at slacks creek. $370 drive in/out.
When my da had the slotted put on the ef xr6 years ago they had to bevell the edge of the brake pads because of clipping on the slots, which made vibration through the pedal and a jake brake noise. Hope mine doesnt do the same...

I've used Kevlar brake pads and found they don't squeal or make much dust .
