ok today i orderd ba copies at 18x8 (rim size) and a set of tyres at 235x40 now this has confused the f**k outa me, i dont have a clue about tyre size but wat does the 235x40 mean i no that 18 is 18 inches and the 8 is 8 inches wide is that correct but im lost on the tyre size.

40 refers to the profile of the tyre dude, the smaller the number, the smaller the height of the sidewall. 25 is phucking thin, 30 is still phucking thin, 40-45 is normal profile for 18's...
Make sure you don't skimp on cheap tyres, they wear faster and they are the only thing stopping you!!! I reckon spending a bit on a car, then skimping on one of the most important safety items is just pathetic... Sorry to all you out there that might have 'economy' tyres, but it's what many people think

235 is how many mm wide the tyre is. 40 means the sidewall of the tyre is 40% of the width of the tyre. which means the sidewall is about 94mm high.
