Nice looking el, not sure about your starting problems but fuel economy depends on how the car is driven. I have a 5.0Lt ef which was moded before I got it, and have to admit I'm happy with fuel use. I dont baby the car but dont flog it either and get 15lt/100km town and 10.4lt/100hwy. I find better fuel economy cruising at 120 rather than sitting at 100km's. A few people I know that were die hard holden fans have crossed the line and wont go back enjoy your new ride.

I give mine plenty of s**t and it uses around 12.5 - 13.5l/100km around town. Probably running lean tho~

Yeah, I was going to, but I'm time poor at the moment and when I get the top end rebuilt it'll get done then. Unfortunately the EEC I'm using isn't 100% compatible and if I want to change anything in the tune, everything has to be wiped and fully tuned again.

expect to pay between $500-$800 for explorer manifolds, upper and lower. I think that mod alone would see a great improvement in performance with your car.

I always thought it had a hi-stall already, or did nick ditch it when he swapped the auto ?

The stall shat itself when the auto went apparently.

Bit on the top end of what you'd wanna pay. Have look around you should be able to pick one up for $500. Just remember if you get one of an AU you'll have to drill and tap the IAT sensor hole into runner 5 (i think), but if you get one from an ELII or XHII they have the IAT sensor already in the manifold. This is due to the AU's having the sensor relocated into the rubber air intake pipe.
