Car ideling like a bucket of....
when i start it up it runs around 700rpm then it just loses the plot and idel goes down to 500 and back up to 700 then back down and then back up and there fuel comming out the exhaust... what do you guys think causing it??? stuffed coil pack? coolant temp sensor? o2 sensor???? Cheers, Jason

i just did a on/off test for faults and got IAT voltage to high.
im getting a multimeter right now to test the volt. do you guys think that this could cause it????

no idea
but i would pull off the ISC ( idle speed controller and give that a damn good clean with carby cleaner if u are not sure what it is it is the cylinder thing on top of the throttle body! with 2 wires coming out

just clean the ISC and maybe the throttle body with some throttle body cleaner. besides that reset the ecu, there should be a tutorial on here how to do it.

LOL
shame shame shame same old answers clean ya ISC or check/replace ya spark plugs cheack leads check air filter replace fuel filter clean throttlebody i did that ages ago that like a first step thing well i beleave i have fix the problem that fault i got with the IAT well i check for 5V in the IAT and there wasn't any power went to the ecu to check for power and found the wire to be cut. Ive been driving this car around since the day i bought it(4-5month) without a IAT connected LOL ive been doing pritty good getting a 400km to a tank and out running a (mates) modded ea falcon with this problem LOL ill give ya guys a update tomorrow when i go for a good drive and see how she runs

LOL i proberly not ya IAT(Intake air temp)
the prvious owner of the car was a complete idiot and had no idea what he was doing and cut my IAT wire. all your sensors(throttle position, crank angle sensor, cam angle sensor, map sensor, IAT, o2 sensor, coolant temp sensor and so on) get a 5v feed which the sender what ever one it is make a resistance that the computer understands and sends back to the ecu to adjust fuel load to mae the right ratio for whatever rpm and throttle postion your at. if you cleaned ya ISC(idel solinoid control) and reset ya base(700rpm + or - 100rpm) idel and done the raw basic tune up(dizzy) timming light then try this if ya got a multi meter check the ecu voltages(look on top of ecu and you see that the whires are numbered) ecu termonal 35 (02 sensor) should have 0.8V after starting engine and leting run for 60 seconds after the 60 whould fluxuate between 0.1V and 0.8V ecu temonal 38 (coolant temp sensor) ign on at 20 degress 3.1V at 40 degress 2.2V and at 100 degress 0.5V ecu termonal 39 (IAT) ign on at 0 degress 3.9V and at 20 degress 3.1V and at 40 degress 2.2V there some basic tests ya can do to check your engine for that bad idel. hope that helps and not confused you

maf sensor hose from it to manifold, simple check, the hose comes off occasionaly on my car and this happens.
just another idea for you to ponder over |
