Std fuel pressure is 38 Lb ..
The higher you run fuel pressure the harder it is on your fuel pumps to keep up supply.. If aftermarket ECU ? Then 40 Lb is generally used .. Depends on injector size etc ??? Most fuel regs are rising rate.. Its the ratio they run at... Most std fuel regs are 1 to 1 and work fine with reasonable boost... The only time a bigger reg is required ? Is when fuel supply is way over what reg can regulate... Over 350 rwkw or so you'll require atleast -8 fuel supply lines and -6 return...

Standard EF / EL regs are 38 lb as Graeme has mentioned.
EF / EL Tickford regs are ~40 lb from memory. Tuning around 38lb is good for off-boost economy / lean cruise modes. For your application (standard inj / ecu) with 7psi...I'd say you would be looking at 50 + psi fuel pressure (ballpark) at idle. |
