Hi!
Car over heated last night after about 10 mins of driving. No leaks, no steam, just hot! Worked out the thermostat was jammed so I took it out. Also noticed only 1 thermo fan was working. Do they come on at different times or should both be working together? I plan on getting a new thermostat tomorrow.....I won't do any damage will I driving about 15kms in peak hour traffic this arvo on my way home from work? (already done 15kms on the way in this morning!) Thanks

You should be ok if you keep an eye on the temp gauge.
AFAIK the fans come on at differant times depending on temp and or AC is on.

You shouldn't wreck anything by driving without a thermostate. However, don't boot it or anything, drive real easy. I had to do it one day, and I found that my car could not warm up properly or get to normal operating temperature. drove really sluggish.

Surprisingly enough I have heard some cars can overheat without a thermostat, theory is, without the thermostat the coolant flows too fast through the radiator and doesn't cool down properly. Can't say I've ever seen this happen though, most of the time they just run excessively cold, as you said.

ive run my last two ea's without a thermostat, takes a while to warm up but once it is, the temp sits on the bottom of normal, seems to be a bit smoother aswell, i wouldnt say i gained any power but i also didnt loose any

no really a issue in most car at crusiing speeds though... this occurs mainl;y in burnouts at high rpm were teh water pump pumps the water at too high a velocity for the rad to cool it down hance why i want electric water pump
