(I did a search before i asked this)
Is traction control from a AU (or other car) easy to install in an EL, i know that it will require another brake line to the rear axle. But since is is an abs based system (in AUs) not on fuel system (like holdens) it can't be to hard to install, can it???

The electronics side of it would not make this an easy or affordable mod. I didnt think AU's had traction control did they? But you would be needing to transplant all the releveant looms and modules from another car into yours. Unless you are very patient, very smart and very well paid id be saying you are dreaming!

the fairlane and ltd model in the AU's did have traction control and also options on the fairmonts

its worth it if your gonna have the missas or someone drive, it is good to have aswell when your not payin attention to the road on wet days etc...

its the first thing i turn off when i jump into dads fairlane ghia . i think its just wrong how its automaticlly on when start the car .

Pretty much sums up why Also for (good) take offs and so as i don't get pulled over for wheelspin

That's right, it will apply brake to the spinning wheel but if you're going too hard it will also cut fuel. The AUs have a wire on the ECU that links into the ABS/TC module for this purpose. |
