hi guys. i have an ea cfi wagon. it runs rich to the point of blowing heaps of black smoke when cold. i have replaced the oxygen sensor. no exhaust leaks. replaced the thermostat. fuel pressure is ok. it gives me a constant 930 mV at idle. i have 20 inches of mercury. i tested the map sensor, it is supposed to have 110- odd hZ at idle. it has between 160-250. if i bring the idle up to 1200 or so it gives me a steady 104 hZ. seems like time for a map sensor. any suggestions ?

righto. replaced the map sensor. gives me a steady 104 Hz at idle. it still runs rich as. it has a slight improvement. ( 860 mV from the oxygen sensor. ) what next ? clean injectors ? computer ? i have done 400 highway k's in it now. used the best part of a tank of fuel.

put in a set of injectors from another car. still idles at around 860 mV from the oxy sensor, but now it doesn't smell rich, or make my eyes water. seems easy enough to ignore the simple stuff.
